Online Counselling at Nostra Forza

What is Online Counselling?

Counselling online allows people to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings they encounter in a safe, confidential environment. Counselling is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives, or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth. A counsellor will encourage you to talk about what's bothering you in order to uncover any root causes and identify your specific ways of thinking. The counsellor may then create a plan of action to either help you reconcile your issues, or help you to find ways of coping.

Counselling online is not only applicable for existing problems. You can also use counselling online as a preventive measure to avoid future problems.

Online counselling can be useful for anyone who wants to explore the way they're thinking or feeling, as well as for anyone experiencing a problem or issue they are keen to resolve. People may choose to speak to a counsellor because they feel they cannot speak to their other half/friends/family about such personal issues, or they may simply wish to speak to a professional with an objective viewpoint. Feelings of stress, anxiety and low self-esteem are becoming all too common in today's society.

Counselling can offer practical advice for overcoming these kinds of issues, as well as allowing you the space to vent your frustrations and feelings. The counsellor will encourage and help you to express your feelings. Counselling can provide you with the opportunity to reassess or set new goals in your life and help you to gain clarity and direction. Counselling can be used to address issues and problems within your relationship or provide mediation between you and your partner.

You're not feeling happy, you might be upset. Maybe you have been trying to cope with these symptoms for some time in an unhealthy way. That's not good for you, and therefore, counselling should give you positive results within a short period of time.

Online counselling is basically a short form of treatment. The aim of the counsellor is that after about 8 sessions, you should be able to cope without further guidance.

The added value of online counselling can be found in:

  • Trust between the counsellor and client in one on one conversations

  • The structured methodology that the counsellor uses to listen

  •  Short term results that have a long term effect

  •  The open and non-confrontational character of counselling, in which the client itself can feel safe

  • The empathic approach by the counsellor, yet managing to retain professional distance

Counseling and Online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a successful combination. To explore certain ways of thinking, feelings and behavior I make use of cognitive behavioral techniques. More information on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other treatments can be found under online treatment methods. You can find information about my rates under therapy rates.
